Teaming Up on Electric Projects

Upper_Thompson2.JPGThe Wazee Electric team continues to work on the completion of the Upper Thompson repairs from flood last year. The team has been working in protective gear due to the raw sewage and other hazards - next time you flush, remember the hard working people who keep this stuff going every day.

NW_Electric_Techs.JPGThe Denver motor shop has been busy working on projects for 2 large clients during their planned shutdowns. The guys have been working 6 days a week (sometimes 7) to get these repairs out on time and on budget (we are 100% OTOB). Steve and Joey from H&N Electric have been working in Denver the last 3 weeks to help wind motors in the shop to get the clients back up and running. Another great example of teamwork between divisions.

KFox.JPGWazee Electric also recently teamed up with Philadelphia Gear on a gearbox/tram project in El Paso, Texas. The gearbox was repaired in the PG Sante Fe Springs facility and shipped back to our customer in El Paso. In addition to drive installations by our Electrical Services Manager Roman Garcia, our contract electrician Vaughn climbed this tram tower to help get the job done, all at the young age of 71!

Safety Corner

Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs)

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a leading cause of death. It shows no preference to age, race, or gender. The only proven definitive, emergency treatment is defibrillation – best described as an electric shock to the heart. Providing access to defibrillation is essential to fighting sudden cardiac arrest. An AED is a device that allows a trained, non-medical person to administer a controlled electric shock to a stricken person in an emergency. Such equipment talks the user through each step and automatically provides the shock as needed while trained emergency medical personnel are coming.

Without early AED treatment, more than 94% of individuals experiencing Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) may die. However, with AED access, the reported survival rate exceeds 50%.
