Established over 50 years ago, Wazee Crane has seen the back of enough recessions to learn a trick or two about suviving through difficult periods. Kevin Walsh talks to vice president Jim Andrews on the Colorado firm’s current ascension.
Having come out of the most recent economic crisis bigger and stronger, with a 50 per cent increase in production capacity and a 100 per cent increase in sales between 2005 and 2010, Wazee has made hay even while storm clouds were gathering.
Denver, Colorado-based Wazee Companies has three distinct businesses, its oldest being the electric motor and generator design, installation and repair service. Since 1961 Wazee Crane has manufactured cranes mainly for clients based in and around Colorado.
In recent years as the company has found itself winning more contracts further and further afield, it has had to grow not only in terms of its size, but also with respect to its range of specialisms.
